After over 20 years of experience working with local board shops in the UK and North America, Gary Pagels formed Active Sales Inc. (ASI) in 2004. What would become an eventual trend in the way ASI serviced their customers, Gary noticed a shift in the everchanging marketplace.

Realizing the industry was in need of more competitive pricing, ASI joined forces with Century PCB, a board shop in Taiwan. ASI was able to provide their customers with more competitive pricing, coupled with 3-week lead times and fast turn capabilities – an overseas board-shop with a local, domestic feel.

In 2013, ASI saw another opportunity in the industry and engaged with Shennan Circuit Corp. (SCC) in order to expand their customer base to include house-hold name, Tier 1 customers. In 2014, another opportunity presented itself. ASI was able to compete in the ITAR business by teaming up with Cartel Electronics (now APCT) to offer quicker turns and a domestic option for customers.

2019 was a year of growth. Upon the realization that an expansion was needed, ASI teamed up with Methods Automation, an established player in the electronic manufacturing industry, in the mid-Atlantic region. With Methods Automation’s proven track-record, ASI and Methods Automation have been able to get more involved with the ITAR and Military business-side of the industry.

These changes and additions have allowed Active Sales Inc. to see a massive increase in sales. From $3 million in 2005, ASI is currently on the path of breaking $70 million in 2023.
